Tina & Nick

It was such a pleasure working with this lovely couple who are expecting their first around January 4th. They were clearly excited, but also nervous - what first time parents aren't? Children add so much to our lives though and I am thrilled for this couple that they will soon get to experience all that parenthood brings. We were very lucky that although it was a cold winter day it was also a beautiful day with a little bit of snow on the ground, and we were able to take some outside photos. The very next day it had all rained away. Due date is almost here Tina and Nick - so excited for you.

Asher {18 days old}

Can I just say that Asher is the easiest newborn I have ever photographed! He slept soundly from the moment I put him on my newborn bean bag and slept through various poses until the last few minutes of the session. And then he didn't pee or poo or me, only on mommy :) Sorry mom! Asher's mom is a very dear friend of mine (see maternity session below) and she is so grateful to finally hold her miracle baby in her arms. Not only is he a very special gift from above, but he is also beyond cute! Congratulations dear friend - I am so very happy for you!

merry Christmas

I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year. May all your hopes and dreams come through. Personally I have SO much to be thankful for. I thank God that in this past year he blessed my husband with a good, steady job and we were able to buy a house for our family, our first own home in 15 years of marriage. I started my own photography business which I have truly enjoyed and I am grateful for every person that has come to my home and allowed me to take their pictures. I give thanks to God every day for my 3 beautiful children that I get to hold, love and see grow up. We thought that number would increase to four next June but that wasn't to be.. But in this, and in everything, I choose to trust God and not lean on my own understanding. I hope that in the year to come you too will see that goodness of God, because He is good, always.

Merry Christmas!

Hailey & Annie {4 months}

Hailey and Annie were my first twin session and what cuties! Almost looked like dolls. Mom had also brought the cutest little tutus and Christmas outfits. Being they weren't old enough yet to sit up by themselves I was thankful for my little pink chair where we could just squeeze them both into. Such beautiful girls with beautiful red hair - just like their big brother (previous blog). But please don't ask me which is Hailey and which is Annie!! Note for myself: next twin session, write down the file numbers for each child!

Connor {age 2 1/2}

Connor and his little sisters came for a session all the way from Curlew. Connor was so handsome in his Christmas suit. He was a very active 2 1/2 year old boy (what boy isn't?) but very talkative as well so we chatted about airplanes, trains and sheep and it made him sit still for a brief moment :) What a handsome and proud big brother.

William {12 days old}

I got the honor of photographing adorable William when he was only 12 days old. William was born at 35 weeks and only weighed 4 lb 13 oz when he came to my house. He was truly perfect in every sense of the word - but deep sleep was not in his vocabulary the 3 hours the session lasted. From the very first picture (below) I should have known - it's like he is saying "see if you can get ME to sleep - neener, neener, neener!" But what a beautiful perfect little boy - and the fact that he was a long awaited miracle only makes it all so much more beautiful.
